This Legionella Risk Assessment course is designed for all those who need to refresh their knowledge or who want to learn how to carry out a Legionella Risk Assessments.

The Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 requires that all those involved in the assessment of Legionella are "competent". Our Accredited Legionella Risk Assessment course has been written by our team of Trust Mark Certified Legionella Risk Assessors. Trust Mark is the only competent person scheme in the UK to be Government Endorsed.

At the end of this course you should be able to understand what Legionella bacteria is and how it affects you. The relevant Guidance and Legislation, the requirements of the HSE's ACOP L8, HSG 274 and the Department of Health’s HTM 04-01. The principles involved in carry out a Legionella risk assessment and when to test for Legionella bacteria.

How to Identify how and cold water systems, how to deal with scalding risks, when a TMV valve should be fitted and maintained, when outlet should be flushed, cleaned and disinfected.

During the course you will sit an online tests so you can demonstrate your understanding of the course material. The tests include multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 70%. You have a maximum of five attempts to pass the test.

On successful completion of the course you can download a CPD Accredited course certificate which is valid for a period of two years. The certificate is only valid for two years to meet the HSE's ACOP L8 requirement for regular training.
