Description
This Legionella Awareness, Control and Prevention for Healthcare course is designed for all those who need an awareness of Legionella bacteria as well as how to carry out control and prevention measures in healthcare environments.
At the end of this course you should be able to understand what Legionella bacteria is and how it affects you. The relevant Guidance and Legislation, the requirements of the HSE's ACOP L8, HSG 274 and the Department of Health’s HTM 04-01. What should be included in a Legionella Risk Assessment and when to test for Legionella bacteria.
You should also understand temperature monitoring requirements, how to deal with scalding risks, when a TMV valve should be fitted and maintained, system flushing as well as cleaning and disinfection.
During the course you will sit two online tests so you can demonstrate your understanding of the course material. The tests include multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 70%. You have a maximum of five attempts to pass each test.
On successful completion of the course you can download a CPD Accredited course certificate which is valid for a period of two years. The certificate is only valid for two years to meet the HSE's ACOP L8 requirement for regular training.
